Cold Chain Logistics

PCM cold storage plates and insulated containers hold a defined temperature band through multi-leg transport, supporting food, pharmaceutical and chemical distribution.

Challenges addressed: temperature-sensitive cargo is most at risk during loading, cross-docking and last-mile handover, when the refrigeration unit is off or doors are open; conventional ice packs release cooling unevenly and can pull the cargo surface below the intended range, damaging freeze-sensitive goods. Technical approach: PCM plates are formulated to a target melting point, so they hold the cargo space near that temperature instead of continuing to fall as with plain ice. Plate quantity, thickness and packaging are specified against the measured duration and ambient profile of each transport lane. Formats: plates and boxes. Temperature band: configured per lane. Reuse: multi-cycle. Documentation: test data on request. Applicable industries: food and beverage distribution, pharmaceutical transport, chemical and reagent logistics, last-mile delivery. Outcomes: more even temperature distribution inside the cargo space; reusable plates lower consumable cost per shipment; suitable for both chilled and frozen lane configurations.
